Guys! I had to throw it back because I wasn't blogging when I shot this wedding in 2016, but I felt the need to reminisce on this luxurious affair at the John S. Knight Center in Akron. I had the amazing opportunity to third shoot for Tunji Sarumi, a high-end wedding photographer from the Baltimore area, here in Akron. He is Nigerian and shoots many weddings for the Nigerian community. Tunji was so generous with his knowledge of both photography and the Nigerian culture, and it was fun to experience both of these blended together. From the traditional clothing (women from each branch of the two families wear different colors) to the food (spicy and garnished with purple orchids. Purple orchids, y'all!) to the DANCING. HOURS OF DANCING. Choreographed routines, bridal party dances, elder dances, traditional Nigerian dances. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT THE DECORATIONS!!! Oh my gosh...Sorry, got a little carried away there. Let's just say for the next few weeks, I was gushing about this wedding and how I wanted to be Nigerian. Enjoy a taste of Nkeiruka and Lawrence's nuptials which was truly a feast for the senses. Comments are closed.
